The Bubbler has 24 portable stop-motion animation stations used to strategically introduce teenagers to the basics of storytelling and the intricacies of stop-motion animation. The library looks to partner with youth-serving programs to bring animation workshops and longer projects out teen groups around the city. Check out the Book Trailers and Madison Story Project for examples of literacy-based animation projects.

Madison Public Library received a grant from the local Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Foundation to develop a portable stop-motion animation program for teens based out of the Goodman South Madison Library. The grant allowed the library to purchase equipment, contract with an animation instructor and begin to develop partnerships and projects with teachers and youth service providers. The Bubbler's portable stop-motion animation stations were purchased from John Lemmon Films at www.readyanimator.com. iPads are sold separately.
